I completely understand what it feels like when you feel lonely sometimes. The wait before marriage really has been an incredible time of growth, joy and fulfilment but some days the enemy brings lies of loneliness which if you accept them can have you feeling really low.
Jesus being so kind has left us with beautiful promises that if you believe in them, it brings immense reassurance that singleness is only for a season, that he is with us and that we never need to feel lonely because he will never leave us.
Here are 5 beautiful promises to hold on to when feeling lonely.
1. Psalm 68 :5-6 TPT
To the fatherless he is a father.
To the widow he is a champion friend.
To the lonely he makes them part of a family.
To the prisoners he leads into prosperity until they sing for joy.
This is our Holy God in his Holy Place!
2. Isaiah 34:16 TPT
Search the book of the LORD, and see what he will do. Not one of these birds and animals will be missing, and none will lack a mate, for the LORD has promised this. His Spirit will make it all come true.
3. John 14 : 16-18
And I will ask the Father and he will give you another Saviour, the Holy Spirit of Truth, who will be to you a friend just like me—and he will never leave you. The world won’t receive him because they can’t see him or know him. But you will know him intimately, because he will make his home in you and will live inside you.18 “I promise that I will never leave you helpless or abandon you as orphans—I will come back to you!
4. Ruth 1:16 ( When you read this, imagine Jesus speaking this to you, for this is the heart of the Lord)
But Ruth replied, “Don’t ask me to leave you and turn back. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God.
5. Genesis 2:18 (NLT)
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”
